My friend asked me if my interest in BDSM permeated beyond my sex life. This was my response:

BDSM is a bedroom-only thing for me right now. I do fancy and envy the 24/7 lifestyle and it’s the only thing I roleplay.
I’ve actually been giving a lot of thought lately to what that lifestyle really entails, and I realize that it can vary from relationship to relationship. Just because another submissive can only wear and eat what her Master approves doesn’t mean that every 24/7 relationship has to be or is like that.
I am very comforted by the thought of someone owning me and taking care of me. I am comforted by the thought of someday wearing a subtle collar or cuffs, just like I am comforted by the thought of someday having a ring on my finger.
I also want to be equal with my partner, I want to have a fair and balanced household, and I need to maintain my autonomy.
I’m still trying to figure out how both sides can work together.
